Comparing a peptide service: questions for the October policy documents

Build a comparison around specific answers, their dates and the records behind them.

GLP-1 Planet Editorial Team ·

Start with the offer you are comparing

Before assigning a service a score, write down what you want the comparison to decide. Is it about a proposed prescription, the organisation answering your questions, or the commercial terms? Give each question its own space. A polished answer about one subject should not fill an empty space under another.

October 29: HHS describes interim 503A enforcement discretion for specified peptide forms and routes, subject to its conditions. This is not a 503B pathway or product approval. [1]

The Federal Register notice remains unpublished on October 29, with publication scheduled for October 30. It calls the policy draft and nonbinding, addresses an interim period while rulemaking proceeds, and sets a comment window ending two weeks after publication. Those descriptions should accompany any claim based on this record. [2]

Use the policy index

The table and ten-item index identify where to begin reading. Neither records a completed check of a service. Keep any supporting documents with the particular offer they concern; leave unresolved matches blank rather than supplying an assumption.

Form and route

Read every row together with all conditions. [1]

Ten conditions [1]

  1. Listed in Appendix A.
  2. Identity and route match Appendix B.
  3. FDA-registered source; valid certificate of analysis with identity and testing results.
  4. Original manufacturer: FDA registration, bulk current good manufacturing practice (CGMP) and physical site on certificate; FDA-registered intermediaries validate vendor and certificate.
  5. Report products, serious events irrespective of causality and quality problems to FDA and relevant states; labels explain reporting.
  6. Label: “This is a compounded drug product. Not for resale.”
  7. Single active pharmaceutical ingredient, listed in Appendix A.
  8. Oral preparations: formulation-specific documentation of adequate human bioavailability.
  9. Drug-containing or co-packaged devices: only 510(k)-cleared syringes.
  10. Other federal requirements, including sanitation and patient-specific prescriptions.

Ask who supplies which part of the answer

FDA says compounded medicines lack FDA approval; approved generics follow an approval pathway that includes therapeutic equivalence. Poor compounding can cause contamination or incorrect strength. State pharmacy boards generally oversee non-outsourcing pharmacies day to day, while FDA can inspect them. Registered 503B outsourcing facilities are primarily FDA-overseen. Finished drugs meeting 503A conditions are exempt from CGMP requirements; 503B compounded drugs are subject to them. FDA also warns that online customers may not know the actual compounder. [4]

Ask the service to name the dispensing pharmacy and explain which organisation is responsible for each answer. A response from a platform and a document from a supplier should be attributed separately. This keeps your comparison from treating a recognisable trading name as an answer to every question about the proposed prescription. [4]

For your notes, distinguish what someone stated from what you personally checked. Record the document, its date and the precise offer it identifies. If an answer is incomplete, ask a short follow-up directed at the missing detail. You do not need to turn uncertainty into either an endorsement or an accusation.

Keep an announcement in its own column

Hims & Hers' October 29 statement previews Peptides+. It plans Sermorelin, Glutathione, B12, NAD+ and L-carnitine, with BPC-157 and TB-500 to follow when allowable. It describes independent prescribers and licensed pharmacies. Its forward-looking qualification includes launch timing and availability; these are plans, not our verification of ordering access. [3]

That is the boundary for the news note attached to our Hims review. We have not placed an order, established a launch date or checked whether an individual would be eligible. Do not import the earlier review's price or score into an evaluation of the announced specialty. [3]

Compare the commercial terms separately

Keep cost questions separate from those categories. Ask what payment buys, when it becomes due and what remains conditional. Request the applicable cancellation and refund terms without assuming that the terms of another programme apply. These are questions to resolve before making your comparison, not statements about the current terms of any provider named here.

Read the comparison with its original date

The notices leave earlier reviews and clinical fields unchanged. Use the peptide library and selected profile with their original source dates.

Treat the two dates as answers to different questions: when the earlier review was assembled and when this policy account was checked. An update beside an old review should not make its entire contents appear newly verified. For a fresh purchasing comparison, request fresh answers to the questions that matter to you.

Reader questions

Does a policy notice change a provider's score?

No score has been recalculated for this document update. The notice directs you to a separate dated analysis; it does not stand in for a renewed assessment of the provider.

Can I treat a launch announcement as confirmation that I can order?

No. For the announced service, ask whether ordering has opened and what remains conditional. Our document review did not establish access, eligibility or a fulfilment date. [3]

Editorial assessment

Keep unresolved questions visible. This update supplies a dated document index, not a new provider score, pharmacy audit or clinical assessment. Obtain current answers before comparing offers.
